I too saved up babysitting money to but my first John Romaine purse...the little treasure chest one. I took the bus to the shopping center and carried that bag home guarding it like a treasure. It was perfect. I cannot bear to part with it even though my kids think it's quite funny that I've held on to it for 46 years. It represents so much. Life was definitely different then...good times!
