I didn't think the dangerous type of this game was still around in 1981, or maybe it was left over from the 1970's. We did have a set for a short time. I have a sad experience with those as a kid my age back in the early 70's was killed by one of those Jarts. It was a Sunday afternoon at the lake and all of a sudden we hear sirens. There was lot of action going on about 200 ft from us, right where about 20 minutes earlier my mom was talking with an old school friend of hers that just happened to be at the lake that day too. My dad goes over to see what was going on, and he comes back and says, they were taking my mom's friend's little boy (somebody I had just met and talked to) away in the ambulance, one of those Jarts got him in the forehead, he died a few hours later at the hospital. Our own set of Jarts were never seen again. This obviously had to be one of the more dangerous toys from the era has if memory serves the spikes on those things were like four inches long and they had to have some force behind them as they came dropping down out of the sky. I wonder whoever came up with that thing and thought it would be safe, projectiles being tossed 50's in the air. Oh I'm sure the instructions had a safety warning on it, do not throw towards another person, but still, do people really pay attention to those things?
