Some points on vintage Hot Wheel cars. Go to any high-volume antique dealer, you are likely to find many loose cars. The big money is in cars still sealed in blister packs. You won't find even common ones (pre 1971) for under $100. 1970 was when Mattel degraded its product by making the matching button out of plastic instead of tin. The collectible market dictates what Hot Wheel cars are deemed rare enough to be worth hundreds to thousands of dollars. Value is also determined by condition of the blister bubble and cardboard backing, when they apply. Be careful, vintage Hot Wheel shopper.
