In the early 1960s I lived in Verona. NJ. During the summer I attended the Day Camp run by the YMCA in Montclair. There was a small building the back of the Y which had one of those big metal floor model coolers in which they kept cans of Hoffman soda. I loved the black cherry and the ginger ale. I could also get Hoffman soda at Henry's Fine Foods in Verona. (Which is still there!)I recall buying a big bottle of Hoffman's ginger ale at Henry's, but the moment I stepped out the door it somehow slipped on my hand and smashed on the sidewalk. I didn't have the money to but another bottle. I was heartbroken!
