From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, an early TV commercial for Hi Heidi by Remco, with a girl brushing the doll's hair. This aired on the "Alvin" cartoon show over CBS (10/24/64). By the mid 1960s, (West) Germany and Japan had become strong friends and allies with the U.S. East Germany (Berlin Wall) was under Communist/Soviet rule. There were likely some (veterans) who carried and held contempt for these countries since the war, though both nations now practice Democracy, Laura. Hi Heidi dolls were produced until 1970. Remember, Tokyo hosted the 1964 summer Olympics.
