I have the original recipe from the box. Here it is: 1 pkg (2 C.) precooked beans 1/4 lb. salt pork or bacon, sliced 3 1/2 C. boiing water 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp dry mustard 4 TB molasses 2 TB brown sugar 1/4 cup catsup 2 TB onion 1/4 tsp garlic powder Place beans without soaking in baking dish or bean pot. Brown salt pork or bacon thoroughlly. Add boiling water. Combine remaining ingredients and add to water and pork mixture. Pour over beans. Cover and bake in hot over, 450 degrees for 309 minutes. Uncover, stir well, and bake 15 minutes longer. Because I cannot find precooked beans, I use 1 lb. of dried naby beans, and soak them overnight in the crock pot on low, with enough water to cover them by a few inches. When they are soft, I add the remaining iingredients, and cook on low all day. I have found that for 1 lb. of dried beans, I have to double the other ingredients in order to get the same Hallmark flavor. Enjoy!!
