My dad started working for Kitty Clover when he got out of the military. He started as a route driver and retired as the General Manager for Kitty Clover, and had the duty of shutting down the old plant on Martha. After the company got bought out by Fairmont, Colboro, and others - we got transfered as a family from regional chip company to company for my dad to run the plants in St Louis, Minneapolis, Rockford, and others. My dad just turned 90 and still talks with love about the company, the product, and still craves the smell from the plant. As a kid I used to sneak out and snag fresh chips off the production line and there never was a better taste. If you ever brought home or mentioned you ate a Frito-Lay product, Pringle, or other company's chip - you got a lecture from my dad. Now its all national products that are the same, and my dad actually said that he would rather have me eat Old Dutch - which years ago would have caused a beating
