I just happened to be in DesMoines visiting my Mom when he passed through a higher end dept. store. I saw the all white "holiday dress" in the fall 1978. I bought the dress for $88 to use for my wedding dress in March. Up to that point I did not know how I was going to find a dress when regular wedding dresses were more expensive. That's when JC Penneys sold wedding dresses form their catalog. With minor alterations, I had a beutiful dress with a sheer panel from a lace nehru collar, deep ruffle edged with lace from shoulder to wiast, sheer inserts on the sleeves and wide cuffs with a row of several pearl buttons on the cuffs and on the back of the dress bodice. I LOVED my dress. It was gauzy white with a small white brighter white tiny flowered print. I made my veil to attach to a little Juliet style cap. My daughter though it too old fashioned when she got married. I was going to cut up the dress to make a chistening gown but my mother had a fit & convinced me not to> I don't know that anyone in my family will ever want to wear it but it was so perfect on my wedding day!
