Yum. These shakes were so amazing. I don't know if we're all looking back through rose colored glasses but there was a 'powdery' element to these drinks. So if you try to replicate it, I would use powdered cocoa and not syrup. I'm in Canada and they were made by Salada and called 'Great Shakes'. I know I have the plastic shaker - couldn't resist when I saw it a flea market. LOL!But, yeah, like a lot of people said this product was full of crap - I would read anything as a kid and that including ever box that sat on the kitchen table. And I seem to remember this had a lot of complex undecipherable words after cocoa powder, sugar etc.But the other thing is, if say Carnation Instant Breakfast was discontinued way back then we'd look back and say OMG that was the best thing ever - and you know what? Carnation instant breakfast still tastes really good. Might be a good sub for Great Shakes - and you'll get some bonus vitamins! :) Anyway, I fell down the internet rabbit hole - I was looking to find where I could buy strawberry shortcake ice cream bars - love them - hasn't seen them forever - and noticed these shakes.
