Another Great Shakes radio ad, with the Spencer Davis Group. Steve Winwood sounded a little strained, struggling through the jingle. Instead of a group member, a professional announcer read from script. This aired in July, 1967 on WCFL in Chicago. Barney Pip was DJ. Despite the odd name, Pip had a long radio career. Began at WCFL in 1966, moving to New York and WPIX-FM, early 1970s. Late 1980s, Pip worked at an oldies station, WGLI in Nassau/Long Island. He hosted the "Saturday Night Jukebox," which featured doo=wop, R&B and Rockabilly of the 1950s.
