From the Saturday morning cartoon vault: The TV commercial that signified the fad of wearing button pins and use of the catch-phrase, "Stamp Out..." The young pitchman, wearing candy-striped blazer and flat straw hat (1920's style, like a Vaudeville entertainer), prominently shows off his button and using the phrase, "Stamp Out Punchless Lunch," as a slogan for Great Shakes. In the background, a family threesome is shown shaking up and drinking vanilla and chocolate, with an enlarged 10-serving box on display. The guy looked like Peter Noone, but little British accent. This aired on the "Road Runner" cartoon show over CBS (3/16/68). Also aired on "Happening '68" (Paul Revere/Mark Lindsay hosting) over ABC 3/30/68).
