Same TV commercial, different show. The "Four Kids And a Tree" Great Shakes ad, this time on "Happening '68" on ABC (1/13/68), Hosted by Mark Lindsay and Paul Revere (Yii! He's been dead nearly a year now). Soft-rock band Sunshine Company and Leonard Nimoy were the guests. "Happening" was a decent show. What killed it was being pre-empted each fall by NCAA football on Saturday afternoons. Producer Dick Clark always had lavish prize packages to winners of the amateur band contests, and occasional dance contests. Once a month would be "Raider Day,' in which they performed most of the show. Pre-emptions aside, "Happening" lasted 20 months, until September, 1969.
