Along with the erasers, Frito Bandito rub-ons were premiums starting in 1967. Frito Bandito was popular with most. The increased perception of a negative stereotype prompted some Mexican-Americans to boycott Frito Lay products in 1969. The Bandito was Mexican,was a thief and somewhat maniacal. TV commercials with Frito Bandito aired on nearly every gendra of programming. I have an episode of "Super President/Spy Shadow" cartoon show (airdate 6/1/68, NBC-TV) with an eraser ad.
