Yes I got the wax harmonica a couple times in my childhood for halloween. I specifically remeber the first one I got and the "huge" (for a kid) decision I had to make between having this wonderful musical instrument or actually eating it. I remember how tempting the aroma was and tried hard to only take a couples of licks. But before I knew it those ever larger licks were turning into ever-so-small bites(not so big I wont be able to play t the notes now) until the first note fell apart and I gave into temptation figuring: "what good is an incomplete harmonica?" Before I knew it all i had to show for tht wonderful treasure was a malformed ball of wax, a deep sense of regret, and a vow to never eat a waxed harmonica again(A promise I broke and made every year until I was too old to trick-or-treat. A Plea to those of you who still have one or more of these marvels saved from you childhood....get it to a qualified mold maker they will prolly need 2 of these...one to slice in half along the seam..and the other to check the mold maker's result against. Then get a few made out of plastic and get thhe notes tuned by adding or subtracting very small amounts of plastic from the inside of each note's chamber ( guitar tuner or other similar device can be used... do this with a copy which hasnt had the parts sealed together (use tape or whatever to hold a temporary seal to check the notes....then get the result to the same mold maker as before and send the resulting molds (or copies thereof ) to a confectioner to make the blessed things with different flavorings and orange food coloring. Get some blessed labels made that look close enough to the original but do no infringe on the copyrights and lastly SELL THEM TO US. We Will pay the price, cant you see how many of us want these treasured goodies again???? Maybe we can get a kickstarter account going and take our nostalgic craving to the public for help!? But in either case preserve whatever you have so that if you dont want to do this someone else CAN.
