I wore the original sandals all through the 70's and into the 80's. They were so comfortable, probably through constant wear. I have arthritis in the upper big toe joint of one foot that causes a lot of pain. Bone spurs were removed, but I have pain anyway. I remembered my old Dr. Scholl original sandals and decided to order some and see if they would be comfortable or help my feet at all. I found that the new ones available do NOT have the same wood base with the "toe grip" and people seem to dislike that. I decided to search for a vintage original pair, size 9. I found one and have put in a bid---I can't afford a lot due to job loss, and will keep looking until I find a nice vintage original pair. If anyone has foot problems and likes wearing the old Dr. Scholl's and think they help, I would love to hear it!
