Ah, Deans sweaters, the essence and king of prep. I had 7 Dean's sweaters in college - all solid colors and all cable - dove grey, butter yellow, ivory, navy, kelly green, red and light blue. I never really went for the Fair Isles yoke with buttons style. I wore those sweaters incessantly, along with straight-leg cords, oxford shirts and Bass Weejuns (the style is no longer made - the old traditional smooth front penny loafer). I remember feeling like I was the epitome of cool prep and being the envy of all the girls at college, sometimes being jealously teased about my 'uniform.'
