I remember the candy was the size of a small child's hand (they were large compared to suckers/lolipops of today). I remember a sucker lasting the whole week, because of it's size and thickness. It came in several flavors: grape, lemon, orange, red cherry and occasionally green/lime. It was on a popcicle stick, wrapped in clear cellophane and it was curved shaped to fit you mouth and around your tongue. The front of the sucker looked like a corn on the cob (you could actually see the kernels, the back side was smooth and indented to fit you tongue. I remember paying 5 cents for them and was lucky to have found quarters in some of them, which allow me to go back to buy more and share them with my younger sisters. A note to Collier, who also remembers the lipstick candy, that was the best candy you could buy for a penny. I remember that it would also shade your lips red and the fun part was licking your lips cause it tasted so good. I've gone to several Wholesale Warehouses that are opened to the public and some actually sell candies that were popular in the 60's, that you will not find at any local grocery store or Walmart.
