Converse was THE brand name back when I went to school. Not to many kids wore them just to kick around in, but were used by the basketball team. Our local clothing store stocked them in our school colors. Never forget the first pair I ever got, I had to pay for them myself as my dad said ten bucks for a pair of tennis shoes, he worked to hard to throw away his money like that. Goodbye were the days of mismatched hand me down black Keds that I had worn up until then for playing basketball.
