I live in San Fernando Valley, Calif. I remember Chum gum and got some in the mid 70s in Folsom at an old town general store,on a family vacation. In the mid 80s, my sister and I were driving near Folsom and we made a special trip to that general store just to see if they had any Chum Gum. They didn't have any, but, it was a good time anyway. One other candy I have not seen mentioned here was a MILK SHAKE CANDY BAR. Used to get that from the Helms Bakery Truck that used drive thru the neighborhood in the mornings. When White Front was around. When a specially marked charmspop wrapper could get you a free one. I see a few people say these were the best times of their life. I am 60 and like to think the best times are still here, just being alive and healthy.
