Comments left:	Here's a wild one! There actually was a Chum Gum before Fleer's stick bubble gum! I found, on Ebay (sorry, folks, no Fleer Chum Gum for sale), an old advertisement page, from a Chicago newspaper, for a candy/novelty company from 1938. This company sold a stick, spearmint-flavored chewing gum...named Chum Gum! Five sticks in a cardboard box for five cents. This preceded Fleer's product by 13 years. History does not state if Fleer "borrowed" the name, or any legal problems because of it. The Chicago company was small. I'm guessing it went under during World War 2 (sugar rationing), and Fleer simply tagged the stick bubble gum as such, legally. The old ad piece may still be available...believe it was around $15.
