New Copycat Recipe from the Chef I have very fond memories of eating this. I'm so happy I'm not the only one who reminisces this amazing chicken noodle dinner in a can. I remember as a early teen going fishing with my grandpa and uncle and them cooking it in a pot on the camp stove with plenty of black pepper. I live in Washington state where this was readily available. It was Nalleys chicken noodle dinner. Then the name changed to Lyndens. But Lyndens recipe wasn't the same at all and it wasn't even close the noodles were flat and the color was like a regular egg noodle and the broth was like a soup. Nalleys had less wide and thicker noodles and was a white color, and a creamy thicker broth. As a chef who like to experiment. I created a recipe for Nalleys back in 2014. The noodles are the key. So here it is and it is nearly identical and it really reminds me of that delicious can of sustenance I grew up with. You will need to find japanese udon noodles. They will appear white and look like linguini but much thicker. Try to find ones that aren't to thick or round though because some udon are the size of rope licorice. Ok you got that, the rest is easy. Cook noodles according to directions then chill in ice water. Next in a pot add 1 can of Campbell cream of chicken soup plus half can of milk and half can water. Bring to a simmer. Continue to cook to thicken slightly. Next add canned peas, canned diced carrots, and canned chunk chicken breast then add chilled noodles. Heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Simple and delicious. Feel free to experiment with the sauce. Another way would be to use chicken gravy in a can and add milk or you could try chicken broth from a carton with a little milk plus a corn-starch slurry to thicken (my fav & preferred method). Also you can use frozen peas and carrots to make it a little bit more Homestyle with fresh poached chicken breast chopped. I hope you make it and enjoy it I think it is possibly the closest you can get and I really think that this needs to be back in the stores. Let me know what you think. Everyone here is my kinda person. Contact chefmike01 at hotmail dot com
