Going back to the Saturday morning roots, NBC seemed to be the network of choice by Tootsie Roll, which made and advertised Charms products on TV. In 1970, Charms commercials aired on most of NBC's lineup, especially the new fall shows like "Tomfoolery, Bugaloos, Dr. Dolittle and Hot Dog." On the other networks, CBS was nearly monopolized by Kellogg's in ad time bought. On ABC, Mattel and Post cereals dominated much of the commercial time. You'd see an occasional Charms ad on CBS or ABC, the duel/race one with the boy and man. A separate one for Blow Pops followed, with five kids blowing bubbles in unison. While NBC had other favored sponsors (Wham-O, Marx Toys, Quaker Oats), there would always be room for Charms.
