On the Chicago Scene. Another in a series of Carnation radio commercials aimed at the teen crowd. This one for Instant Breakfast mix (in five flavors) stresses the term "Go-Go," and "Carnation Gives You Go-Go!" It was sung by unfamiliar studio musicians, but quite catchy. It aired on WCFL in October, 1967, during transition from Madman Ron Britain to Barney Pip around 9 PM (CT). Another station angle at the time, Pip began his show with a musical pledge of allegiance. Not to the American Flag, but to WCFL, backed by (recorded) studio musicians. Other commercials included Pepsi (Beats the Others Cold), Sinclair Oil ($3.98 gas pump transistor radio) and Sears (record dept.) with members of The Seekers.
