Yes, yes, yes...the good old days! Betty crocker frosting mixes used to come in a box, not a can. I have wished for years that they would return to the shelves like so many other non-replaceable lost foods. My favorite was the banana cake mix and banana frosting mix. Oh, it was so delicious. It had a fresh homemade taste, like you had made it yourself. Not, the awful artificial taste that lingers in your mouth long after the icing is gone. And, you can add whatever you want to the tub icing of today, and NEVER get rid of that awful artificial taste. Anyone who has had the old box icing knows exactly what I'm talking about. I wish the boxed fudge icing would return. I used it for everything! But, gone for good. Only fond memories are left. I know you can buy the fluffy white in the box still. I haven't made it in years, but I doubt it is the same as it once was. I don't know if you can still buy the coconut pecan icing, for a German chocolate cake, in the box still or not. It, no doubt, has been changed to a tub as well. If only these companies would not change these old tried and true products.
