This story is actually about BK French fries. From the prime time TV vault, a musical commercial I'll call "French Frying Legion," in which the Foreign Legion is parodied. A special team of BK French fry experts shown, sprinkled with a little patriotism ("Serving Our Country...the Best French Fries"). This aired during "Lotsa Luck" on NBC (9/28/73). "Lotsa Luck" stereotyped a struggling Brooklyn family headed by Dom DeLuise as Stanley, a New York transit worker. Among Stanley's brood, a bossy mother, lazy sister Olive (Beverly Sanders), and lazier brother-in-law. Despite having the popular "Sanford & Son" as lead-in, "Lotsa Luck" had abysmal ratings for Friday night, cancelled after one season. Reruns are on Antenna TV Saturdays at 11:30 PM (CT).
