I remember these! They were part of that confusing early to mid-70s trend of dangerously high platforms and heels combined with natural-looking materials. These were in a buff-colored suede that looked kind of like unfinished doeskin or something. I remember a teenage girl from the neighborhood in about 1973 pointing to an ad for these and saying, "Look at that! Your heel is raised way up and the toes are turned up too! How are you supposed to walk in them?!" People did, though, and I remember older women like my mom saying that 70s wedge heels were much more comfortable than the pointy-toed stiletto-heeled pumps of the 50s.
