Bubble Up is still made by the same company that makes Dad's Root Beer. The Coca-Cola connection came because most Coke bottlers distributed Bubble Up prior to Coke's introduction of Sprite in 1960. Coke already had a trademark on the name Sprite. The little man with the Coke bottle cap hat in ads during the 1930s and 1940s was named Sprite. Some places didn't get Sprite, the lemon lime drink, for many years. For example, San Diego and Los Angeles didn't get Sprite for more than ten years after its introduction.
