Hey Guys, I too...grew up on the Delpha rolls that taste identical to the rope licorice flavour and even the the Red Vine's licorice. So back about 10 years ago, I re-visited the same store where my parents bought the Delpha Danish Rolls for us at the local General Pary Store in Warren, Michigan. The store owner told me that when the "Original of the Delpha Danish Roll" retired from the family business and sold the company with the name and description, BUT WOULD NOT SELL THE ORIGINAL RECIPE of the Old-World Licorice flavour. The original owner's grandfather invented the recipe and passed it to his grandson, who kept his promise to never sell the recipe. THe man died and so did the recipe. P.S. The General Store owner also said the new owners of the Delpha/Broadway company continues to argue with the folks that that did acquire the recipe from the original mfr. As we all know....the taste is the pudding. The new claimed owners are just wanta-be's. Like the one comment reads....I'll just continue to buy the licorice rope.....this company should make the Danish Rolls...........betcha his stock index would climb.
