The red licorice I remember was in a clear crispy cellophane wrapper with yellow/orange printing block letters I think, and the package was the width of a lifesaver roll or maybe wider and the licorice was a corkscrew pasta spiral that was like a wide ribbon when you unraveled it. I do not recall anything being in the middle. I just remember playing with the roll. I also thought at Halloween the manufacturer boxed them in a smaller size?
