Thanks to whoever set up this site. It's great reading all the fond Black Cat memories. I guess I'll give up my search for the elusive gum! It was definitely the best gum ever!! My favorite black cat memory was getting in the back of my uncle's pick up. Me and about eight of my cousins and friends. We would drive 12 miles to the 'local' butcher shop. You'd have to go to his house and he'd drive down the road with us to open the shop. He had an old Coke chest with freezing cold water in it. Remember those? The adults would buy steaks and the kids would buy Frosty Root Beer or Crush grape or cream soda, Scotties Potato Chips and a pocket full of Black Cat Bubble Gum. With all the interest in BC gum don't ya think whoever has the recipe and rights would start making it again? Another poster on this blog wrote that a company in Winnipeg has the rights. I'd gladly pay $2 for those little squares of gum! It would be so popular. I'm begging....please make it again!
