Black Cat gum was my absolute favorite gum when I was growing up. Soft to chew, great bubbles, great taste that lasted and lasted. We used to have this little dish called a gum stopper, we used to put our Black Cat gum on it and could chew it the next day after rinsing it off. The flavour never ran out. You can't get it anymore unfortunately. I spoke with the people at Sugar Mountain (I love in Winnipeg) and they told me that the reason it isn't being made anymore is that it is to expensive to make now to keep the same quality. The reason that it stayed so black and the flavour lasted and lasted and it had some a soft smooth texture was because the gum actually had real licorice in it. Sugar Mountain bought the rights to it but won't make it because of the expense. So sad, I'd gladly pay a couple of bucks just to have a piece to chew again, it was wonderful stuff!!!!
