I wrote Cardinet years ago when they were on their own and I got a very nice letter back saying that the candy, which they described as a piece of fudge covered with a chocolate layer, became too expensive to manufacturer. The taste, they said, was so good because it contained English Black Walnuts in the fudge, which had gone way up in price. They felt that the cost to continue to make the Baffle Bar would mean a large increase in the retail price, would kill it, so why bother? It is sorely missed.
