Comments left:	I was actually in one of the Ayds ads. They were real people/photos-had to be verified as the company was very nervous regarding misleading advertising. My mother always had these around, and I would sneak them as candy when little. After my father died I gained a lot of weight-would have been considered severe depression, now...but back then, I was just teased and bullied which caused me to gain even more weight. At 5'111/2 and 300bs, I finally got to the point where enough was enough, was a senior in High School and saw what I was doing to myself. Decided I was ready-and going to lose weight. I took 1 caramel flavored cube with hot tea-not into coffee at the time. Whatever it was-the candy or my decision+will-power, I did loose 135 lbs. After this, my mother suggested I write to the Ayds company and tell them of my weight loss-I did. They were interested in my story and flew me and mom to New York:(I was under 18, needed parental consent). They paid me something like $250, and $150 "wardrobe," makeover, along with airfare and hotel in New York. It wasn't much-even then, and I might be over on the $250. I never liked the headline or some of the story written about me. The "More dates than days of the week," was an exaggeration-to say the least! I didn't date much at all-still affected by the loss of my dad, not very confident or outgoing, but Ruth Montgomery wrote the whole thing and I let it stand. I mostly wanted all those "bullies," the ones who couldn't keep there cruel comments to themselves-to see I'd turned out okay...to show them I wasn't "fat," anymore. Society sure has changed-I either wouldn't have been as harassed these days OR, been bullied even more from access to the internet! Lol I never gained the weight back-though, and I too wish they were still on the market-just because-
