I remember a friend of mine in the mid 70s talking about how much she and her sisters loved "Eggner" purses; that is how she pronounced it. I had no idea what she was talking about and was not impressed one way or the other - I was never into brand names. It was only within the last couple of years that I heard it pronounced in a commercial and realized she had been mispronouncing it the whole time. QUITE impressive I must say!
