- An American Christmas Carol
This is a favorite story of Scrooge, played by Henry Winkler(1979). He does a wonderful job in this classic story by Charles Dickens.

Lee remick starred in this one. her husband is losing his business. a store. her mother is living with them. angela lansberry plays the mother. she dies. the daughter gets sick. while she's sick she dreams of her deceased famil like they're still alive. She wants her mother to tell her where the special place is. it's not until the end that she realizes that it's all a dream.

1978 - elderly farm couple take in their city-born adolescent grandson for the holidays during Depression era...boy helps his grandfather overcome his grief over the loss of his son during WW1 and helps get a new organ for local church.
- The House Without a Christmas Tree
Jason Robard played the dad who did not want their house to have a tree. The daughter, Addie, won the tree from a contest at school.
- It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
This movie has Mickey Rooney in it. He is a grandfather and in the beginning dies of a heart attack but is allowed to come back to life, to the total shock of the paramedics who pronounced him dead.

A very good,if very sad, Christmas tale about a neglected Ghetto boy who befriends a kitten on Christmas. It doesn't have a happy ending, and the closing theme song makes that point.
- The Walton's Christmas Movie
Essentially the pilot for "The Waltons" series with Patricia Neal in the Michael Learned role. Daddy Walton is never seen until the end, because he is lost in a blizzard. Most of the children redid their roles in the series.
- The Year Without a Santa Claus
1974 -- Santa has a cold and decides not to do Christmas this year. Two elves decide to try to help him but run into the Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Stop motion animation. Good flick.
