My Dad would take us to Wetson's in my local town of Stamford CT, because it was cheaper than McDonald's. After our baseball games Dad and Mom would drive down to Wetson's and let us order whatever we wanted.

I remember Wetsons in the 70's over on Tillotson Aveune, near Co-op City in The Bronx, across from I-95. When I was about 7 years old, My father used to bring me there to eat often. Then it turned into a Nathan's, and also after that it became Mangia's.

I used to bike over to the Franklin Square store with my friends from Stewart Manor -- the back way, not New Hyde Park Road. With 75 cents in your pocket you ate like a king. It's been more than 40 years and I've still never had a better french fry.

My elderly grandmother used to live directly behind the Wetsons on Sunrise Hwy. Bay Shore . She would call and order a plain juicy rare burger. They would deliver it to her door and she would tip the guy with a piece of doublemint gum , or a cigarette . Still remember those free burger days when I was a kid .

I rememer the Wetsons on Woodhaven Blvd. in Rego Park, Queens and others in the surrounding areas.I was just 6 yrs. old. Just today, I mentioned Wetsons to my parents, and neither one of them remember it, they lived in Queens all their lives. I said to them "you don't remember me in the backseat of the car pestering you to take me to Westons? I remember the last time we went, they told me, this is the last time we will ever eat at Wetson's b/c it's turning into the name McDonald's. I'm not sure which ones changed to McD's, but I do know some of them in Queens did. I was disappointed b/c I didn't know what McD's would be like.

I remember the Wetson's at the bottom of Colonial Hill in Stamford, Connecticut in the late 60's - early 70's. I have a distinct memory for 40 years of ordering a burger and fries with a shake and the Stone's tune "Wild Horses" playing on the speakers inside. Thanks for giving me a place to share this.

The Wetson's I went to was on Northern Blvd. between Searingtown Road/Port Washington Blvd and the Roslyn Overpass. I liked Wetsons better then McDonalds, but the big problem with Wetsons was they had no dining area. People like eatin dining and not having ketchup, pickels, and milkshakes spilled all over the car interior.

I remember Wetson's Hamburgers like it was just yesterday. I used to cut out coupons from the PennySaver that advertised '5 Hamburgers for .59 cents'and give them to my parents for our Friday night dinner. That was back in 1966 or 1967. The Wetson's we went to was on Sunrise Hwy. in Bay Shore, which is now a Sprint store. What a wonderful memory of a short lived but great American fast food establishment!

One of the last remaining Wetson's buildings still exist in Rosedale, NY on Sunrise Hwy (NY27) on the Queens/Nassau (Valley Stream) border, as mentioned in a previous comment. The building had the orange circles removed, and is currently 'covered' with other signs, as is now a 'Cellular Phone' store - but the 'base' is still recognizeable. For a long time, a former Wetson's located in Hicksville was re-used as a popular used record store named Titus Oaks, but was demolished some years ago and the location is now a Dunkin' Donuts

I lived right across from the only Wetson's I have seen, located on Teaneck Road in Teaneck, NJ in the early 70's. The place was always busy with customers, especially on weekends. Young people dressed very well then, and borrowed their parents cars as they would stop at Wetson's on their way to or from home to socialize. I still remember the "Wetson's" sign.

I loved Wetson's food yes. And also that it was my very first place of Employment. It is just too bad they had dirty little secrets regarding the Management in certain B'klyn locations, Don't worry it had nothing to do with the food. Let's just say it was the change of times for women in the work industry.

In response to sue's comment: we passed through that intersection a lot in 1972, and I'm pretty certain that there wasn't a Wetson's there then. The only one I remember was farther west on Jericho Turnpike, and it became a McDonald's around 1969.
