Description
I believe they came in red and black. They were the same length as nibs but thicker and had a flattened spot on the one end if it. It was to resemble a british policeman's billy club. I loved the flavor of these licorice but haven't seen them since about 1985.

I remember that type too. They were great. The width(about 1 inch)and the thickness made it taste better.

I haven't seen it for years either, I know the black 'billy' was gone before the red was. Wish I could find it, I loved it...!

I grew up in St.John's, Newfoundland, and used to love the red billy licorice...better than nibs by a long shot!! They were thicker and tastier and had an indent on one end. 10 cents each...would love one now. Also, buried treasure ice cream...yum!!!!
