I use to love eating Pop Rocks. It was like a small explosion going off in your mouth.
Loved this stuff! The ultimate Car Pool Mom-stressing candy. Get as much of it in your mouth before you became a human volcano and then stare agape at everyone monitoring which color their tongues were turning. Ahhh, the days.....
I Loved pop Rocks! They were absolutely amazing! It was so wonderful that you could eat candy, and get this great sensation. I miss those!
Yeah.. I remember hearing a kid put 3 packages in his mouth and chugged them down with a 7UP and his stomach exploded? . . DUH?
yeah-i remember that ADAM-the rumor i heard was that the weird kid mikey from the life cereal commercials was the kid who died,which i learned was not true-no duh.now people are using them in different ways in the bedroom.my childhood memory is now tarnished....
I did hear from a friend that she was on the bus with a kid who swallowed a bunch of Pop Rocks and Cola at the same time (the old Pop Rocks, they change the recipe since then) and while his stomach did not explode, he did serious damage to his esophagus and had to be rushed to the hospital.
I was a child of the 70's and I heard the Mikey story, too!!! I guess mom's were afraid they would kill us or something! One of them must have started this "dirty" rumor!!!
I use to put it in my mouth during class, open my mouth, look at the teacher looing for the source of noise then, shut it. It was so much fun!
LOVED these as a kid. Now I have my 7 year old niece hooked on them! (We buy them at a big candy store near my house.) Am I a great uncle or what? Lol
