Description
In the late 70's, we got a Sonic Drive-In in my hometown of Camden, SC. The hamburgers and coney dogs were great, and we had never had tater tots with cheese melted over them. But the best, best, BEST!!! taste we were introduced to was Pickle-O's, breaded and deep-fried dill pickle slices. They didn't sound very appetizing when we first heard of them, but after one bite, we were hooked! When Sonic closed, we would sometimes make our own. They were good, but not as tasty as Sonic's Pickle-O's! Though I think I will head to the kitchen now and fire up the deep fryer. Thanks for helping me remember!

i love pickle-o's their so good! sonic really closed in the 70's interesting
Sonic drive-ins are still alive and doing quite well here in northwest Arkansas (even in towns of under 2000 people). I don't ever remember them having fried pickles though. However there are a few local restaurants that have these.
Sonic drive-ins are still alive and kicking here in kansas. If you go to the wellington sonic you can still order pickle-o's.
You can't hit a rock without hitting a Sonic in Oklahoma City. I don't think any of them had pickles though.
I live in Augusta, GA and they now serve fried pickle chips at Zaxbys. They are GREAT!!
