Description
Chewy peanut butter flavored saltwater taffy (I think) with peanut butter filled center in a golden yellow wrapper. Very rich and buttery taste with a good balance of flavor (not overly sweet like the ones that come in orange and black wrappers today.) When I was a kid in Mobile, AL it used to be thrown at Mardi Gras parades every year. I haven't seen it in years past early-mid 1980's. It was really the only reason I used to go to parades at all. A very special treat! If anyone can identfy what it's really called and who makes it if it still exists let me know.

I think they were called Peanut Blossoms and were made by Clark Candy Company. They also made Black Jacks, which were pink, white, and black striped, and had a licorice flavor. They also made a banana and a cherry taffy, too. There were really good tasting.
