These were the best. My brother would always get the chocolate ones and I always wanted the orange. Everyone thought I was so strange that I didn't want the chocolate.

I still see Hostess Orange Cupcakes all the time where I live. I'm in NY. I used to love them as a kid too, don't buy them anymore, my kids don't like that flavor.
I haven't seen these in decades. I loved them, too--I love almost anything orange.
What I remember was that back in the 1970s, (at least in the NY area) the Hostess yellow cupcakes _weren't_ orange flavored but plain yellow cake, possibly with _lemon_ frosting. And they were in conventional cupcake papers with a sheet of stiff white cardboard in the bottom of the package, not the molded plastic cups they have now.

I loved the orange ones too! As a kid, they had a tangy orangy taste to them that was awesome
I remember wishing they would make a package with one chocolate and one orange cupcake.
Although I'm not a 70s kid (born in 1979), I remember Hostess Orange Cupcakes from my childhood. And, they were really good. I loved both chocolate and orange cupcakes.
