Description
CAME IN A SMALL BOX WITH THE PICTURE OF A MOUSE ON THEM, MULTI COLORED AND FLAVORED LITTLE MICE, THE TEXTUE WAS SIMULAR TO CANDY CORN. GOD I LOVED THESE AS A KID. I WISH THEY WOULD BRING SOME OF THESE OLD TREATS BACK, SO THAT OUR KIDS COULD TRY THEM AS WELL.

One of my favorite "corner store" treats as a little girl. I LOVE Nice Mice and wish they would be reintroduced to the kids of today.

I am 40 yrs old and would sell my soul to the devil for some "nice mice" i remember eating them as early as 1972. The youngest of 10, my brothers and sisters would always bribe me with these. Please does anyone know where I can find them?

I am 36 years old, and grew up in Wisconsin. Nice Mice were one of my favorite candies when I was a kid. My friends and I used to buy them from the concession stand at our public swimming pool. Loved them! I thought I was the only one who remembered!

I sure do remember those Nice Mice candies. I'm 46 years old and grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. We used to bike down to a tiny counter stool diner named Columbia Grill to buy them from the old woman that ran the diner. I loved them and that kind old woman too.

I am 44 and remember eating these (actually throwing them at cars) in the late 70's. I thought they were the worst things I had ever eaten (which is why they ended up being chucked at cars). Howard R. Stark of Pewaukee, Wisc. is to blame for these so-called treats.

I just turned 39 and for some reason, always remember the candy "Nice Mice" that I used to love. I can't really remember what it tastes like, but after seeing the description above, I now know why...I am obsessed with candy corn so now it makes sense to me why these left such an impression. I'd get this candy occasionally when my mom would go into downtown Pittsburgh to "Candy Rama" -she'd always bring me a box back. I think this stopped when I was around 5 or 6 as I can't remember anything about it after that time. I have no idea where the time has gone...

I,m 50 years old and yes I remember nice mice candy. I think they sold for ten cents. The corner bodega in brooklyn, N.Y. sold them.

Oh my gosh I'd pay current movie theater candy prices for these! I've been wanting some forever it seems like, lol. I used to ride my bike up to the store and get them all the time and then one day they were just gone.

I use to buy Nice Mice candy every time the Ice cream truck came to my neighborhood. I brought 2-3 boxes at a time! I really like that candy. If anybody knows where I can buy that candy send an email to sexy_cute_honey@yahoo.com. I really loved them. My kids say to me all the what is nice mice candy. I told them it's a childhood candy.

I took a box of Nice Mice to to my 5th grade class, that must have been 1969. The teacher caught me with them so I had to write "Mike's Nice Mice" on the black board 500 times. Apparently I will never forget that punishment.

i had a friend in highschool and we hung out at his neighbors house in the late 80's and they had an old vending machine in the garage. there were nice mice in the machine and i about had a fit. ran home and got change to buy some because i loved tham as a kid. they were nasty. either my tastes have changed or they were in that machine waaaaay too long.

While I couldn't find a defined timeline, the Howard B. Stark company was estimated to be in business circa 1964 to circa 1975. Makers of Nice Mice and Cinnamon Teddy Bears candies. This was a small local confectioner (Waukesha, Wis.), similar to Johnston or Ambrosia in Milwaukee. Distribution was limited to mom-and-pop grocers (bigger supermarket chains saw little profit in these to even bother), and only in Wisconsin, possibly Illinois. When I was little, in Racine, I'd find Nice Mice at the North St. (at Charles) Grocery, or Matson's on Douglas and North St, 1967 to at least 1971.

I was lucky to have loved these in my childhood, my grandparents had a mom and pop store in Roaring Spring PA and these made an all too brief appearance in the early 70's.

While nothing new has emerged on Nice Mice in two years, I did uncover lots more on its maker. Howard B. Stark Candy Co. started in Milwaukee's Third Ward around 1910. Two featured products were Starks, a roll chocolate candy. Most notably, Snirkle, a caramel swirl bar. Stark moved to a new plant in Pewaukee around 1940. Nice Mice and Cinnamon Teddy Bears were boxed, both created around 1964. By the mid 1970s, Stark had severe financial trouble, and a high-rolling California firm bailed it out. Nice Mice may have been cut after this. I found images of a Cinnamon Teddy Bear box, with bar code (c. 1978), and a plastic wrapper, looked early 1980s. The San Mateo bailout enabled Stark to distribute nationally.

I was born in 1975 and I remember the flavor of Nice Mice. It was my favorite as a kid and it took me years to find out the name. So they were in Kentucky in the late 70s or early 80s I wish someone had the recipe for them. I would try making them myself.

I am 52 years old & grew up in Augusta, Ga. I LOVED Nice Mice & enjoyed playing with them as much as eating them! The box they came in became their mouse house. How I wish I could get a box today!!! They are part of my fondest candy memories! I also loved Koogle peanut butter that came in different flavors like vanilla, chocolate & banana flavored peanut butter. Banana was my favorite!

Is there any candy out there that tastes like/has the consistency of Nice Mice? I know they are 'comparable' to candy corn, but I remember them just a little differently. They were my favorite! We had them in North Dakota in the 70's.

Used to get Nice Mice at Rosie's newstand in Rome NY on S. James St. I'd get out of Transfiguration elementary school go across the street to buy Nice Mice. Loved them in the mid to late 70's.
