Description
Mini donuts. 6 miniture donuts in a blue & white box, whith a cartoon picture of a red-head boy. Came in Chocolate and powdered. Similar to the Hostess brand but much better! Not sure whatever happend to that company...May have been a west coast thing. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I purchases Mickeys minis as late as 2000 in Springfield IL The store was Cub Foods
I work at a Taystee Bakery Outlet (owned by Sara Lee Baking Co)... and we sell them. You can still find them in the grocery stores in MN, too.
I'm from Minnesota and just recently told a friend about them and just how great they were so i sent a package to Texas and now he agrees that these are awesome donuts too and just the other day i sent a 2nd package his way...lol. They are getting very hard 2 find as well up here now too.
holly, i would love to see a picture of the box if you could manage! my dad recently passed away and before he did, we had a conversation about these and remembered always going to the local store to pick some up on weekends.

I used to get Mickey donuts all the time! Last time I saw them in stores was probably at least 5 years ago at Cub but only for a little while and haven't seen them anywhere since! Wonder if they are still at Taystee/Sara Lee bakery outlets. Doubt it though :/

I agree, Dan! My brother in law LOVES Mickey's donuts and that's the only thing on his Christmas list. Does anyone know where I could pick some up in the Twin Cities area? Time is running out!
Tyler--you might want to check outside of the United States---I was told that Canada still sells them!
Does anyone know where these are still sold in wi, mn area. The store I usually got them at hasn't sold them for about a year now. I miss them. The mini and box of 12 tasty three kind ones where the best.:(

Glazed, was also an option! i lament their passing, and await their resurrection. Someone get on that, please.

Mickey's was based out of Minneapolis. I stopped at the old factory/bakery about 4 years ago and a worker told me they were bought out by Bimbo (bleh!)and that company axed the Mickey line but keep Sarah Lee. They still have 3 factories here turning out the sub par Bimbo crap and maybe some Sarah Lee too. You can find a picture on the web- much better than Hostess or Mrs. Freshleys etc. Bring back Mickeys!

Damn, I haven't had Mickey's Donuts since 2001 here in Michigan. I thought the company closed down a long time ago but I know see I just didn't try hard enough for over 20 years. There were 1-2 Taystee outlet stores in Flint, MI back in 1993 where I would readily grab a few packs from along with those amazing Cinnamon/Raisin Roll 8 packs. Anyway, I did find that Speedway Donuts tasted very similar to Mickeys but I'm not sure if thats the case anymore after 7-11 bought them a few years ago.
