happy meals are great-my son would exist on them if i let him.notice how the fries lately really suck? when i was a kid they were fried in beef tallow then the 80's health craze hit (thanks alot jane fonda!)and they switched to vegatable oil,now they have banned trans-fat and its even worse!i know its more healthy and you never know the difference if thats all you grew up with but those of us who were there really miss things that had a little flavor! On the Chicago scene. On WBBM-TV2, an early commercial announcing McDonald's open for breakfast, featuring Egg McMuffin and breakfast Happy Meal. The Happy Meal included a kid sized orange juice, two sausage links or two pancakes (sold separately), plus a mini hash brown. This didn't sell well, and was discontinued by 1974. Commercil was part of a local break during "Stand Up and Cheer" from 10/8/72. In the episode, comic and game show panelist Totie Fields was guest of Johnny Mann and his entourage of mostly young singers. The usual mix of pop hits and patriotic songs by the group. Chevrolet sponsored nationally.
