I actually knew these as "Space Sticks", and loved the chocolate ones! I wasn't fond of the caramel or the orange, but I did like the peanut butter. Our family always carried them on vacation with us!

MY OLDER BROTHER GEORGE BIT IN TO ONE AND BROKE HIS BACK MOLAR ON HIS RIGHT SIDE. IT STILL FREAKS ME OUT TO THIS DAY . IT WAS A CHOCOLATE ONE AND IT MUST OF BEEN 35 YEARS AGO. HE SAID IT DID NOT HURT AND THERE WAS NO BLOOD. STANGE?

These and Tang were the food the astronauts ate, right? I can just imagine how artery clogging they really were, but I loved them too! The peanut butter ones were my favorite.
I remember these. They tasted like grainy tootsie rolls!
I loved these!!!! I used to get these at school, I can remeber even the principal eating these!
they looked like a slim jim-had the texture of a tootsie rol{you are correct mary}-and tasted kind of like an energy bar with chocolate flavor.i will give someone ten dollars for a fresh one!
mmmmmmm... food sticks. I only remember chocolate and I loved them. I also like that they were called food sticks, so as to remove doubt.
I ate a ton of these! I remember one time not wanting to go into a certain restaurant with my family so they left me in the car (totally illegal these days) and I ate Food Sticks instead of whatever - I think they went to Frisch's Big Boy or Lums.
My grandmother used to buy these for us everytime we came over, plus gave my brothers and me each a box to take home. My friends now think I am loco in the brain. They have never heard of them! Now I have proof! But eat them when they are fresh! Otherwise they are rock hard! Mmmm! Good times, good memories!
