These were cheese puffs that were sold in a box around 72. They were called "flings". The best!

The wonderful swiss and ham flings came out at the same time as Bugles and a rather odd Pizza flavored wheel shaped snack. Sadly only the inferior Bugle survives... I think General Mills made them

I don't know why these came to mind tonight...shocked when I found an actual Google for "Ham Flings"!!!! I loved these as a kid..sure wish they still made them!

I remember swiss ham flings and screaming yellow zonkers.If memory serves me correct, I think they(flings)were made by Nabisco.The screaming yellow zonkers I'm not sure.Wish we could get a petition to bring 'em back.Along with Cadbury shortcake snacks.Yum,Yum now that's good treats!
Swiss and Ham Flings all of the sudden just disappeared from Washington State. They were so addicitve, I could eat a box in five minutes if I allowed myself to do so.

Never had the Swiss Cheese and Ham ones but they do sound good. LOVED the reg. cheese ones though and have been craving them, wish we could still get them, I was hoping by googling I would find a store that still carried them but I see instead we are all in the same boat... wishing for some.
I uase to eat Flings by the bag full. Loved them. I think of them all of the time and wish they were still made.The swiss and ham were my favorites. I think we should get a petition going!
Hey Guys, I too am a Flings Fan! I have found a snack that is very similar in taste to our beloved 'Flings'! They are the new Chee-tos Cheese Puffs 'Honey-Bar B-Q flavor. They remind me of the Bacon & Swiss flavored 'Flings'! Try them if sold in your area, you will like them!

I remember eating bags of Cheese Flings. I don't remember ham and swiss ones. They came out at the same time as Bugles and they were both made by General Mills. I always wondered why Bugles survived and Flings got flung. I think of them every now and then and would like to have them again.

Flings were not General Mills they were Nabisco. I just went to their site and they list Flings as being discontinued due to not enough interest. Please go to their site and request that they bring back Flings!! I did!
Well I ordered some Flings from the site mentioned above! I hope they are good as I remember... ;)
I have not been able to find cheesies that I like as I grew up eating FLINGS. I wish they would bring them back, they were far superior to everything else on the market.

I can't recall when they came off the shelf here in Canada...seems like mid to late 80's. As I remember they were in a "foil" bag by then & were sold under the Christie brand. Nothing like them, soft, cheesy tasty morsels. Miss them, want some!
can get them in UK, I heard. Don't know if they're the same. The only cheese curl snack I ever loved. Those and Pilsbury space food sticks were my life in early 70's. Would pay $50 a box to buy them. Are you listening, Nabisco? You guys must have the recipe kicking around somewhere. Promise to buy $1000 worth in A YEAR.

I loved Flings when I was a kid and the closest taste I have found is the cheese powder found in the Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger Macaroni meal...seriously try it!!! Please bring FLINGS back!!!
Flings were the best. Problem is, like everything else that sells g9id, the price went throuhh the roof and people stopped buying them. Nabisco didn't figure that one out.
The first Flings I had were around 1969. I remember that my mother would buy them, and make the Lipton soup onion dip, for her Tupperware, Stanley, etc, home parties. I was 18, and on my own, in 1971 - which is why I know these were on the market before the 1970s.
please bring back the swiss and ham flings, Nabisco!!!! I am 64 and I want to taste them once more before I die!!!(ha,ha)
I will be 64 yrs old in a few months and i would love to see flings back in stores again they were good i liked the ham and cheese but i like the bscon and cheese to i would so pay the price for them they r worth it thanks for ur time

Cheese Flings (just the cheddar ones) were the tastiest, cheddar-tangiest snack ever made ... a very evocative memory of growing up in the 60's. Had trouble not eating the whole box in one setting. The BEST. Here's an idea: let's kidnap the Nabisco CEO and hold him/her until they resume making Cheese Flings ! Anybody in this with me ?
The came in a box, which I believe were pink. I am glad they stopped making them. I would eat them every day otherwise. I thought that food companies liked to make money? why did they stop?
