Description
A 'healthy potato chip', made from something other than potato (soy perhaps) and then flavored to taste like a potato chip. Probably hit around '79 and maybe lasted a year. My mom would buy them, and we were horrified by their awful flavor.

I loved these "potato chips", but I didn't know they weren't potato. I always wondered what happened to them AND I liked them better than Pringles.

I remember Ditto's when my family moved to Texas in 1970. There were 2 stacks in each can. The chips were smaller than Pringles but thicker. They were made of dehydrated potato flakes. I thought they were alot better that Pringles.

Strangely, my experience with Ditto's was also in Texas. My mother would buy them at the Fort Hood commissary. They were a lot better than Pringles in my opinion. When we moved to Illinois in 1973, I could not find them anywhere and have not seen them since.

Loved those chips, weren't they made by Laura Scudder seller? Yes they were better then Pringles - Thicker and Crispier, but like all the good stuff I like they too disappeared along with Wampum corn chips,Taco flavored Doritos and the refreshing drink- Aspen apple soda.

I live in New Jersey and in the late 70s I think, my brother took a trip to New Mexico and he brought back 2 cans. I loved them! They were before Pringles and tasted a lot better. I wish they still sold them.
