Description
I loved this cereal. I have tried to duplicate it using Wheaties and maple syrup, but it just doesn't work. Here's a little more info: before they quit making it, they changed it to Honey instead of Maple, which was stupid because there were already dozens of honey flavored cereals on the market.

I loved buc wheat cereal. There was nothing like it. I can't believe that they stopped making it. I wish that they would make it again without changing anything.

I recently tried Kellog's SMART START Strong Heart maple and brown sugar and thought I was eating Buc Wheats. It has been a long time since I had them but that's immediately what I thought.

yeah -- smart start is decent, but not the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhfIdnwd6Ic

This was the best cereal ever made. And on the packaging it gave the impression of being a healthy cereal, so my mom would actually buy it for me. If she had eaten just one sample of it, she would have realized she'd been scammed. This stuff had ENORMOUS amounts of simple sugar in it, and tasted great.

Oddly, I was reminded of Buc Wheats when I saw a box on the show "Swingtown". I was just a kid in the 70's, but Buc Wheats and Pep were the two grown-up cereals I loved. And don't get me started on how they ruined most of the great kid's cereals since then...

I loved Buc Wheats, it was my favorite cereal. Can't believe they stopped making it, very sad. At least Life cereal is still around.

I used to dig out the thicker, super-sugary coated flakes first. God, I can still remember the wonderful taste of Buc Wheats 35 years later. Nom nom nom!

I remember asking my mom for this, and then being disappointed that there wasn't enough syrup on the flakes, so I'd add some. Finally my mom said that if I was going to do that, she'd buy 40% Bran Flakes (that were cheaper), and just let me add my own syrup. It tasted a lot better!

Yes! I remember Buc Wheats! It was my grandfathers favorite cereal. I remember having it for breakfast at my grandfathers house once and it was unique unlike any other cereal I tasted. Wish they still made it.
