Description
Does anyone remember this ice cream sandwich? It was two huge oatmeal cookies with vanilla ice cream in between and covered in chocolate. Delicious!!!!

Yes I remember that ice cream sandwich!! I am 34 yrs old and I have been trying to find it for about 3 years now. My dad used to take me to 7-eleven and get it for me as a treat. If anyone can help, please post the information.

Guys! I have good news! Well decent news, but I think it may help us out. Krogers makes a Moonpie Ice Cream under their 48oz. "Deluxe" label. The first bite of it had me looking for Ol' Otis again...which brought me here. My wife found a web page similar to this one that said Ben and Jerry's in San Francisco makes an Oatmeal Ice cream flavor that's also similar to the Big Otis. I also saw the Big Otis renamed as the Big Wheel in the late 80's, early 90's in Murfreesboro(Nashville Metro area), TN. Hope this helps with your cravings guys...I miss my Big O! Sounds like you guys do too! XD

Yes!! The It's it bar is identical to the Big Otis, at least in ingredients. It has been in production since 1928! The Big Otis was NOT the original as I had thought. http://www.itsiticecream.com and on Facebook.
north star makes an ice cream similar to the Otis called ufo. I to am 34 and used to get the big Otis every chance I could. im in Kentucky and north star brands are pretty common in smaller grocery stores.

BIG OTIS! Used to get them everyday while on break. Store was across from where I worked. Loved them.
I don't believe that "It's It is the same as the Big Otis. I tried an It's It because of what I read here. My wife and I both consider that the Big Otis was much richer, robust, than the It's It. The oat cookie played a large role in the taste of the Big Otis. I just took a chocolate chip cookie from Safeway and placed a Klondike on it. It reminded me more of the Big Otis than the It's It.
I'm 54. I remember this ice cream think it was called something else here in Ireland. Definitely the best ice cream from my youth. Would love to try it again.
