Description
They were small chewy "diet" candies, about 3/4" square...came in two flavors chocolate and caramel...packaged in a rectangular box and individually wrapped in waxlike paper. My mom, grandma and all the older ladies had them...they were that chcolate "indulgence " that was allowed if you were dieting...I remember they didnt taste to great and we werent allowed to eat them as kids. They always seemed to go hand in hand with a can of Tab...

If I recall, these were not just a candy indulgence. Which is why kids weren't allowed to eat them. They were a diet aid. I think the way they worked is when you drank something after eating one, they'd expand in your belly to make you feel full.

Maybe if these were called something else, they'd still be around.

Ayds and Diet Rite cola -- a cyclamate lover's dream. My friend's mom bought these, and we tried them once and they were just as nasty as Space Food Stix. I doubt they worked, though, because all of the moms who ate them were still overweight!

I would sneak them from the drawer where my mom kept them. If she caught me, she wasn't exactly happy. They were "her" candy.

My mother had these in the kitchen cabinet. She'd let me have one once in a while. Not bad. If they were still around they'd definitely have to change the name.

This is waaay too funny!!! Just like Footballmom104 and others, my mom had them in her bedroom dresser draw. I would always eat them, as they tasted just like candy.......unlike that "chocolate" Ex-lax square!!!!!!
